Myofascial Trigger Points Contribute to Migraine Symptoms

Current research is pointing the way to a link between myofascial trigger points (TrPs) and increased pain in migraine headache patients. You have been diagnosed with migraine headache, but it seems that your medication is not working and maybe you are even taking more.

A recent study showed that trigger points contribute substantially to migraine pain. What this ultimately means from a treatment perspective is that treatment of trigger points produces beneficial effects on migraine symptoms. This is an important concept because it can eventually allow the reduction of specific migraine drugs.  If you suffer from migraine headaches and they seem to have been getting worse lately, you may want to be examined for this condition
